What Teachers Are Saying

“I've been working with Jennifer Weibert for the past 9 years. Her knowledge and mentorship has been transformative in my teaching and my ability to engage and grow students. The organization, rigor, and retention interactive notebooking has been a great benefit to my students in both rural and urban school districts with both high performing and socioeconomic disadvantaged students.”

— Matt C., Biology

“I met Jennifer as a second year teacher that was thrown into teaching earth science, biology, and chemistry all in the same year. I was drowning and Jennifer was my life saver. I was able to transform the way I approached teaching science and turn my instruction into phenomena based lessons. I was able to help my students create interactive science notebooks that not only guided their learning, but unlocked their potential for long lasting learning. Changing the way I approached science, changed the way my students thought about their education.”

— Kassie M., AG Science

“I would just like to say a big thank you for the virtual workshop series! I’ve done notebooks for years but switching to phenomena based notebooks is going to be a game changer! I’m really glad I signed up for the virtual workshop series. Even though I wasn’t able to participate in the live sessions, I was able to watch (and rewatch) the recordings and I came away with a better understanding of Phenomena and Big Ideas! Thank you again!”

— Jennifer W., Middle School

“I am so grateful for the science notebook training I’ve received from Jennifer! I have learned how to apply NGSS Framework in tangible ways to elicit student responses across multiple platforms and leveraged many tools in both the physical and virtual classroom.  Seeing my students collaborate on ideas and watching their thinking change over time have been some of the most rewarding outcomes of being able to apply this training in my physics classes. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

— Sheri M., Physics

“When I first looked into interactive science notebooks, I was not sold on them. I thought it was glued in forms. After seeing samples I realized that you could see student thought on each page. I tried them and was hooked. I can see growth and consistency in the way I teach and interact with my students. Most importantly with all the student work in one place-the students are able to interact with the content in ways they can’t with worksheets.”

— Les S., Physics

“When I started using the resources from Weibert Science, my classroom changed dramatically. Students are 100% engaged in their science learning. They cannot wait to enter the classroom and show their learning through the processes that I’ve learned here. If you want to push yourself as a science educator and push the students in their learning, you need to use what Jennifer has created! You will not be disappointed!”

— Nikki L., Middle School

“I invested in myself and couldn’t be happier with the results of working with Jennifer through Weibert Science.  I have learned how to engage my students with sketchnoting-my students love it! My units are now designed with templates that focus on phenomenon and essential questions-I know exactly where I am going in a unit. You have so much to gain training with Jennifer! ”

— Christine K., Middle School

“As a first-time middle school science teacher, I was at a loss on how to structure my class. After the weekend training with Jennifer, I can visualize how my classes are going to look like. No worksheets and it will make my life easier! Look no further and do this training! I am signing up for her Virtual Community to meet monthly for continued support. Jennifer comes highly recommended! Super knowledgeable and willing to help.

— Jhoanna M., Middle School

“ I have to say-if you are on the fence about this-go for it! I got it yesterday and started in. I’ve been looking for a “system” for forever. This is what I’ve been wanting! 🎉🎉”

— Shatawn T., AP Chemistry

“I took your workshops in the Big Bang series last summer.  My goodness the results are great.  It took awhile for the students and me to implement all the strategies but we kept with it.  My teachers, coach and administrators are blown away by the students' work and their deep processing in writing.  I was out for 6 weeks but the sub and coach kept having the students keep doing their notebooks.  The quality and amount of work decreased but when I came back using the stamps helped to get the students back on track.  I have found the big idea page is the best for getting my thoughts and planning done for units.  The anchor phenomenon and summary table are the most impactful on my students as we or they process.  My administration now wants all the science departments to be using these techniques.”

— Melanie A., Middle School

“The Big Bang saved my sanity last year. After 2 years of being in and out of school, I found myself with a group of Freshmen who had forgotten how to do school. It was like teaching middle schoolers. Since I generally teach the upper grades, this was proving difficult for me. I needed to find more structure and guidance than I normally give my older students. Then I stumbled on the Big Bang. After looking it over, I jumped in and it was worth every penny. It helped me provide a coherent unit structure that the kids enjoyed following. The Big Ideas helped them to organize their thoughts and condense what they were learning. The anchor phenomenon helped them see connections to real world things and the summative task helped to tie everything together. I jumped in during the school year and Jennifer was such a huge help. She answered questions and helped me get started on the fly. This summer I have had the chance to take her trainings with the new workbook and can I just OMG!!! This workbook is amazing. It really brings it all together. With her trainings and the workbook, anyone can do this. And honestly, the kids loved it. They enjoyed doing the Big Ideas and condensing all that they learned. They really enjoyed the Summative Tasks; they had such a good time doing them. I would highly recommend getting the Big Bang and doing phenomenal notebooks with your students.”

— Florence H., Chemistry Teacher

“Weibert Science has completely changed my way of teaching. The best advice I can give to one teacher from another teacher is to take the chance and invest in your own personal growth.  It will greatly pay off.  If you have not gotten the Sketchnote Bootcamp that is a must to get now.  Jennifer has developed a student-friendly presentation for the students that goes into great detail about how to sketchnote and how it is used in their interactive science notebook.  The presentation equips the students with what they need to know to get started sketchnoting. Jennifer provides a resource folder that includes a printable teachers guide that goes along with the Sketchnote Bootcamp presentation. All I did was print the teachers guide and turn the presentation on for my students and they follow along easily.  I had a student to tell me at the beginning of the presentation that she could not draw.  After the presentation she was so happy to have drawn a cup.  That gave her and my others students the encouragement to know they can draw. Over the course of the semester this students sketchnoting was extremely organized and displayed the required information to relay her thinking of the content. The Sketchnote Bootcamp will set the stage for your classroom of great things about to happen in your class. Invest in yourself and grow in your teaching!”

— Robin O., Biology

“One of the top trainings I’ve attended in 14 years of teaching! I feel like I finally understand the standards I’m teaching and have the tools to deliver relevant content to my students.”

— Cortney C., Middle School

“When I heard about sketch notes from someone in a fb teacher group, I was curious. When I looked into it, I got so excited! I watched video after video on YouTube but couldn’t really get a grasp of how to implement it into my classroom. So I took the plunge into Weibert Science and I am so glad I did! I am so excited to implement this in my class this year, and hope my students will use this throughout their educational journey! Thank you Jennifer!”

— Joanna M., Chemistry

“I loved the training! This is going to be my first year implementing science notebooks and the two trainings I attended certainly help me feel more prepared to take the leap. I love how supportive you are Jennifer!”

— Eva A., Biology

“All I have to say is if you are on the fence, just do it. I did it over the summer and it really makes you think about everything. It’s not easy, but I am the happiest I have been with my class since I started teaching it 10 years ago. I feel like I was able to take it to another level.”

— Kristin G., Middle School

“I’m doing it with middle school, where kids tend to feel awkward and shy, and so far I feel like the focus on notebooking and not content has made them more comfortable, especially coming back after distance learning. We’ve been having fun!”

— Tennille J., Middle School

“I started using your strategies last year and it has really made a difference in how I teach and how students tie concepts together. Concepts aren’t taught in isolation and build on each other. The driving questions really engage students. The use of sketch notes helps all kids find success in recording information and data.”

— Allison K., Middle School

“I started using your strategies last year and it made a huge difference in my student's’ understanding and ability to apply the concepts they learned. Instead of just memorizing disjointed facts, they were able to put together how everything was related and then later in the year, how earlier concepts related to newer ones. Using Sketchnotes and templates helped guide them into expressing their ideas in ways that were new to them, but were more effective for processing in greater depth.”

— Missy S.

“I have collected many resources, participated in many great trainings, THIS is finally making things fit together where I feel I can implement. So excited!”

— Joyce W., Chemistry
