Meet Jennifer Weibert!
Science education consultant, notebooking coach, and passionate advocate for student thinking.
Hi! I’m Jennifer Weibert—and if you’re here, you probably care about making science teaching more meaningful, effective, and fun. Me too.
I’ve spent the last 25 years in science education, starting in the classroom and eventually training thousands of secondary teachers around the world. My thing? Helping teachers rethink how they use notebooks and visual thinking strategies to support deeper learning and student engagement.
Notebooking was just the beginning
When I first started training science teachers, I thought it was all about notebooks—how to set them up, how to use them consistently, and how to make student thinking visible on every page.
But I quickly realized: this work is so much bigger than notebooking.
It’s about great science instruction—giving students structure and freedom, modeling curiosity, and creating routines that work across grade levels and content areas. My mission is to make those strategies easy to understand, implement, and actually stick.
My Journey (So Far)
I’ve had the honor of:
Teaching science for 10 years
Coaching science teachers for 15+ years
Training over 250+ secondary teachers annually
Working as a science coordinator, district grant director, and statewide PD trainer
Leading workshops internationally in Portugal, Morocco, Spain, UAE, Egypt, Italy, and Greece
Teaching future science educators as an adjunct professor
Presenting at NSTA from 2014–2025
Whether I’m leading a full-day PD or recording a course video, I bring classroom-tested strategies, coaching experience, and just the right amount of humor (science memes included).

Why I Built This Space
After seeing the transformation happening with the teachers I trained in California, I knew I had to bring it to science teachers everywhere. That’s how Weibert Science was born.
I pulled together everything I’d learned—what works, what doesn’t, what actually changes instruction—and distilled it into eight core strategies. The goal? Give every science teacher access to high-level professional learning they can use right away.
Now, I get to connect with educators around the world. And every time a teacher tells me, “I finally feel confident using notebooks, this has been life changing” I know we’re on the right track.
If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like you don’t have time to learn one more new strategy—I get it. I’ve been there. But I also know what it feels like to watch students light up when something clicks. To hand them back their own notebook and say, “Look at what you’ve created.” That’s why I do this work. And I’d love to support you on the journey.
Science Is My Jam (And a Few Fun Facts)
I’m a Biology girl through and through—but I’ve grown to love physical science too.
I have two short-haired red dachshunds, Cali and Cooper, who are siblings and partners in crime.
I’ve climbed to the top of Machu Picchu and held a poison dart frog in the Amazon.
I’m mildly obsessed with penguins and fungi. That’s Mona Lisa (the diva penguin) up top.
My husband teaches Calculus. I try not to hold that against him.
